Jamie Dunbar

Jamie Dunbar attended some of the very first SIRIUS Puppy Training classes when he was just a wee little lad. Jamie's Dad, Dr. Ian Dunbar, founded SIRIUS Puppy Training, which is just one among Ian's many impressive dog training accomplishments.

Jamie has been working for the family business since 2006, in a wide variety of capacities, first doing graphic design, filming and video editing, before adding puppy and dog training and curriculum design to his repertoire.  Currently, he manages both Dunbar Academy, the Dunbar's online dog training school, as well as SIRIUS Puppy Training, the in-person Bay Area puppy school, where he also acts as a substitute SIRIUS instructor, teaching classes where and when he is needed.

Jamie has always loved dogs, especially puppies, and loves seeing how quickly puppies (and their people) can learn when they have access to the right guidance and information. He believes that puppy training has the power to change the world, because of the way it can fundamentally change the way a person thinks about motivation and behavior modification: "If you know how to train a puppy, you know how to train a person!" 

In addition to his work in dog training, Jamie has written several books for children, including The Universe Verse, a scientifically accurate, rhyming comic book about the origin of the universe, life on Earth, and the human race.

Jamie lives in Oakland CA with his wife and two kids, on whom he has used positive reinforcement and lure reward training to excellent effect!
